Static IP for the Fyers API

Since 1 April 2026, Fyers lets you place API orders only from the static IP saved on your Algo trading app. Older apps were moved to data-only mode, so you activate the new app, enter your fixed IP there and use the new App ID. Fyers' API hosts have IPv6 addresses and an IPv6 address worked in our testing, but confirm in your dashboard before choosing IPv6.

What Fyers checks

From the Fyers API docs and support articles:

The Fyers pages we checked don't say how many IPs you can add or how often you can change them. Check the API dashboard itself.

IPv4 or IPv6 for Fyers

On the network side, IPv6 is fine: both api-t1.fyers.in and socket.fyers.in have IPv6 addresses. Fyers doesn't say in its docs whether the static IP field takes IPv6, but Fyers accepted an IPv6 address in our testing (July 2026), and it's on our list of brokers that support IPv6. Try the IPv6 address in the dashboard first. If it's refused, use IPv4.

How to register your IP with Fyers

  1. Get your fixed IP's proxy details: host, port, username and password.
  2. Check the exact exit address: curl -x http://USER:PASS@HOST:PORT https://ifconfig.co
  3. Open the Fyers API dashboard, click Algo trading app, enter the static IP and redirect URL, select permissions and click Activate.
  4. Note the new App ID and secret, and use them in your code.

Send Fyers orders through the fixed IP

The synchronous fyers-apiv3 client uses requests, which reads the standard proxy environment variables. Set them before creating the client, in a process that runs only your bot:

import os

PROXY = os.environ["PROXY_URL"]  # http://USER:PASS@HOST:PORT
for v in ("HTTPS_PROXY", "https_proxy", "HTTP_PROXY", "http_proxy"):
    os.environ[v] = PROXY # requests in this process now uses the fixed IP

from fyers_apiv3 import fyersModel

fyers = fyersModel.FyersModel(
    client_id=os.environ["FYERS_APP_ID"],
    token=os.environ["FYERS_ACCESS_TOKEN"],
    is_async=False,
    log_path="",
)

Keep is_async=False. In fyers-apiv3 3.2.1 the async client uses aiohttp with default settings, and aiohttp ignores proxy environment variables, so async orders would leave from your normal IP and be rejected. The full Fyers proxy guide on GitHub covers token generation, a sample order and verification.

Fyers static IP: FAQs

Why did my old Fyers app stop placing orders?

Apps created under the old setup were moved to data-only mode from 1 April 2026. Activate the new Algo trading app with your static IP and use its new App ID and secret.

Does Fyers accept IPv6?

Fyers' API hosts are reachable over IPv6, and an IPv6 address was accepted in our testing in July 2026. Fyers' own docs don't state it, so try the address in your dashboard before you rely on it.

Do I need the static IP for Fyers market data?

No. Fyers says the static IP is needed only for order placement.

Which TrueIP plan should I take for Fyers?

Start with a dedicated IPv6 at ₹50 a month plus GST if your dashboard accepts it. Otherwise take IPv4 at ₹200 a month.
